Not always, though it often works out that way. Parfum costs more per bottle, but because you use less per application, the actual cost per wear can sometimes be lower than a cheaper eau de parfum you have to reapply throughout the day.

Doing the Real Maths

If a parfum lasts all day on one small application while an eau de parfum needs topping up by the afternoon, the parfum may genuinely last more total wears from the same size bottle, even at a higher upfront price. This calculation depends heavily on the specific fragrance, your skin chemistry and how much you personally apply, so it will not hold true for every bottle.

When Eau de Parfum Wins Instead

If you enjoy reapplying through the day, or prefer a lighter overall presence, eau de parfum can still work out as good or better value, since you are not paying the premium that concentration alone commands.
