Perfumer measuring fragrance oil concentration into a glass bottle

Yes, but you’ll generally need fewer sprays, eau de parfum has a noticeably higher concentration of fragrance oil than eau de toilette, so applying it with the same generous habit you used for a lighter formula will likely be too much.

Why the switch needs a change in habit, not just product

Eau de toilette typically sits around five to fifteen percent fragrance concentration, while eau de parfum is usually fifteen to twenty percent, meaning the same number of sprays delivers considerably more fragrance oil to your skin. If you’re used to reaching for four or five sprays of an eau de toilette throughout the day, carrying that same habit over to an eau de parfum will likely result in a much stronger, more overpowering result than you’re used to or than you actually want.

A sensible way to adjust

  • Start with roughly half the number of sprays you’d normally use
  • Apply to pulse points only rather than a broader spritz
  • Wait a full day of wear before deciding whether to add more, since eau de parfum also lasts longer and needs less frequent reapplication
