We would not recommend it. Babies and young children have more sensitive, still-developing airways, and pets often have a far more acute sense of smell, so burning bakhoor directly around either is best avoided, or at least kept to a well-ventilated space they can leave freely.

Why Extra Caution Makes Sense

Smoke, from bakhoor or any other burned material, carries fine particles that can irritate small, developing lungs more than adult ones, and there is no reliable way for a baby to signal discomfort the way an adult would simply by leaving the room. Cats in particular can be quite sensitive to smoke and strong fragrance, and some essential oil compounds used in fragrance blends are known to be genuinely harmful to them if ingested or heavily inhaled.

A Sensible Approach

Burn bakhoor in a separate, well-ventilated room, keep babies and pets away while it burns, and let the space air out fully before they return. If you want fragrance in a nursery or near pets specifically, a very mild, alcohol-free option kept well out of reach is a gentler choice than burning anything at all.
